PLACEMENT AND TRAINING
The Training and Placement Cell of Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering & Technology, facilitates the process of locating job opportunities for Under Graduate and Post Graduate students of the institution, besides collaborating with leading Corporate Firms in setting up internships and training programs for the students. The Training & Placement Cell which is also known as SCRIPT (Centre for Skill Development, Corporate Relations, Internships, Placements and Trainings) provides the infra-structural facilities to conduct Aptitude Tests, Group Discussions, Industry- Specific Technical Tests and Interviews.
Training and Placement cell maintains a rapport with many Industries in and outside the country, of which nearly 10 to 20 companies regularly visit the campus for conducting Recruitment Drives exclusively for MBC students. The industries which Placement Cell is in constant contacts come under the purview of: Core Engineering fields, IT and IT enabled servicing companies, Management organizations etc.

Placement
The Placement season runs through the course of the year starting from the month of August to June. Pre-placement talks and trainings are conducted in this regard. Job opportunities, Date of interviews, Selection of candidates, Job offer letters are announced thorough the Training and Placement Cell. Being one of the pioneer Self Financing Engineering Campuses in the State, our alumnae have set excellent standards in the corporate world through their technical contributions. This legacy is deemed to continue as the Cell facilitates an extra year’s unvarying placement assistance and career guidance to the students even after the completion of their regular Engineering course in the college. We have Central Computing Facility to host any number of online test for placements.
Training
Peermade is a calm and quite area with the best climate and holistic atmosphere in Idukki District. Most of our students are from these rural areas due to which they haven’t benefitted much from any kind of language development programs during their school days. In order to rectify this through special care to our students, we have appointed a Faculty for developing Communicative and Business English. Along with using the expertise of external Training agencies to train our students in aptitude and soft skills, we are benefitted through an experienced In-house Aptitude Trainer to support our students in aptitude and attitude related topics.
Internship
Internships are an integral part of the University curriculum as it provides the prospect for the students to gain Industrial experience in the domains of their interest. The Training & Placement Cell has been actively involved in shaping the careers of our learners from their very first semester through internships.The Cell works as the link between the industry and the students for facilitating internships leading to the campus placements.
Career Guidance
1) Highlighting articles on departmental notice boards regarding Competitive & Industrial Career Opportunities.
2) Inform students about the available job opportunities in Government Sectors and off campus drives.
3) Organizing Motivational Talks.
4) Conducting Psychometric Tests.
5) Conducting Expectation Management Workshops.
Skill Development
The skill development focuses on the Technical and Social skills of the students in various manners. SCRIPT conducts regular Technical Training programs for students with either internal sources or external resources. Internal sources consists of Faculty members and students from various departments. External sources are either paid by college management or students.
