Association of Electronics and Communication Engineers (AZTECS)
The Association comprises of students and faculty of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department which aims to instil and create an awareness among its members about the latest developments and trends in the technical field. The association regularly conducts various workshops, project exhibitions, seminars and quizzes throughout the year for the benefit of the students to enrich their knowledge with technical competence, high professional and ethical values with an attitude to serve the society. It also encourages and brings the members of the association to one platform where they develop a sense of responsibility among others. In association with The Centre for innovative Technology and Entrepreneurship (CiTE) and The Centre for Research initiatives in Science and Engineering (CRiSE), the department is receiving government funded projects. The venture also helps students to be Entrepreneurs rather than being an employee.

FDP Signal Processing and Control Systems on was held at Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering and Technology, Peermade from Jan 31-Feb1 2014
The Workshop took place on 16th March 2017 at Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering and Technology, Peermade.Dr. M.V.Rajesh, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering College of Engineering, Poonjar served as the resouce person. Development of models in MATLAB Simulink was done during the workshop
The Workshop took place form 16/2/2017-17/2/2017 at Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering and Technology, Peermade
Mr. Pramood kumar Naik and Mohammad Rafi Shaik from Coreel Technologies Bangalore were served as the resource persons.Workshop has given the system of implementation using MATLAB and VIVADO design suite.
The Workshop on ‘Signal Processing using Open Source Tools’ was conducted on24th &25th November 2018 at Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering and Technology, Peermade. The Resource Person for the workshop was Prof. Shanu N, Assistant Professor from College of Engineering, Karunagappally. The participants of the Workshop are BTech Final year Students (43 students) and Third year Students (10 students). The duration of the Workshop was two days (12 Hours) and main objectives are: i) Introduction to Scilab & Octave, ii) the development of Scilab & Octave programs and iii) the development of models in Scilab & Octave.
Faculty Development Programme on Electric Circuit Analysis was held at Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering and Technology, Peermade from 10.07.2018 to 13.07.2018. The resource person of the program was Dr. K.P. Zachariah, Professor, Saintgits College of Engineering.
- Department of ECE has organized an add on course for the fifth semester ECE students on C++ and JAVA. The duration of the programme was for 5 days and was conducted from 18-07-2018 to 24-07-2018.
- Department has organized another add on course for the seventh semester students on Build Your own Internet of Things. The duration of the programme was 3 days and was conducted from 23-07-2018 to 25-07-2018. The training programmes were led by resource persons from Quest innovative solutions.
- National Level Project Competition –Navriti’18 on 8-2-2018
National level project competition-NAVRITI 18,hosted by ECE Department was conducted on 8th February 2018, as part of SWASTIKA 18. Twenty seven teams participated in the event. The theme for the competition was “Better Environment, Better Future”. Participants from Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally and Royal Engineering College, Thrissur bagged First and Second prizes respectively.
The inaugural session was started with prayer at 11.00 am in PTA seminar hall. The HOD, ECE Department Prof. Elias Janson K welcomed all the dignitaries on and off the stage, all faculty and students gathered in the hall. He has introduced the Chief guest and resource person for the inaugural session and also said about the importance of the IETE students chapter.The technical session was taken by the resource person Dr. M V Rajesh, IETE Vice Chairman, Kochi Center. Topic for the session was ‘Roadmap to Success in Engineering’ which gave a brief description on the steps that an engineering student as well as a faculty should follow to achieve success in their career in the field of Engineering. Session provided with the moral values that we have to keep in mind and should have uniqueness that makes an Electronics Engineer. Speaker told about the scope of Electronics and Communication Engineering branch, its wide range of job opportunities
- National Level Project Competition –Navriti’19 on 3-4-2019.
A National level project competition hosted by ECE Department was conducted on 3rd April 2019, as part of SWASTIKA 19.
National Conefrenece on Information and Communication Engineering (NCICE'19), organised by department of ECE was inaugurated by Sr. V.P Balagangadharan, Space Scientist, Vikaram Sarabahi Space Center and Keynote address on ‘Internet of Things’ was delivered by Dr. Nalesh S., Astt.Professor Dept. of Electronics, CUSAT. V. Rev. C. John Cor Episcopa delivered the presidential address for the inaugural function. Around 130 papers were received, and out of this 57 papers were selected for presentation. Conference proceedings were published by CiiT with ISBN 9781941505908. More than 200 delegates visited MBBCET for technical session discussions and sharing of knowledge. Further extension of the presented papers will be published by MAT journals.
